The Kindness of Others
Billy and I were bored out of our flipping minds so we went for a drive. I think we ended up in Manihawkin. IDK! Anyway, we started to get hungry, so we stopped at the first place we saw.. IHOP...yummy. Anyway, we get seated and we're deciding what we want. In the mean time, this guy walks in and the sit him by us. Well we order and this guy orders. Ok, fine, nothing wrong with that.
Did I mention that this guy is a soilder. IDK what part but he was in his camo's. Anyway, we get our food and toward the end of his meal he asks for the check. The waitress goes to get it and she was stopped but this lady sitting across from us. Still not thinking anything of it. The waitress goes back to the soilder and says to him. "Sir, that nice lady of there is going to pay your check." My jaw dropped and I almost choked on my chicken fried steak. LOL. He turned to thank her and then she started thanking him. And thanking him. I only read about moments like this but to witness one. It left me speachless. it really put things in prespective for me.
I mean, alot of us say "I support our troops" but how many of us actually do? So the next time you see a soilder (no matter what part of the service) buy him breackfast, lunch or dinner..lol, and tell them these 9 little words, "Thank you very much for all that you do." Or just a simple Thank you. It really could make their day go a whole lot better. Knowing that you are appreciated is a wonderful feeling. Well, at least for me it is. But imagine a soilder hearing it from some stranger in IHOP. I would think that he/she would feel..........freakin awesome.
xoxo~
